Four Chambers Writing
a testimonial
The first offering in Synergy’s fall workshops series is Four Chambers Writing, a simple yet elegant creative practice dreamed up by certified Wild Writing facilitator, Ali Lawrence. You may be familiar with Laurie Wagner’s 27Powers, which includes Wild Writing, a method that encourages writers to “relax, soften your belly, take a breath and simply speak with your natural voice on the page.” Ali has taken the principles of this hugely popular strategy for pouring what moves inside us onto the page and made it her own with Four Chambers Writing. She is also an heart-stopping writer, which you can experience for yourself on her substack, Swim Lessons.
I had the joyous opportunity to be a part of a series of Ali’s Four Chambers workshops and I can attest to the way the practice shoots straight to the center of Self. Here is a short excerpt from one of the many revealing passages that spilled from my heart during my time with Four Chambers Writing.
This is what I want to keep
like a rock in my shoe.
The tiny kernal of Me that has always been there.
I know that rock - know Her so well - and yet She’s hard to describe.
Before ash became ash, She was there,
making Herself known.
She doesn’t talk or move.
She doesn’t communicate in a language anyone can understand,
But I know Her.
She is a rugged old thing.
She is misshapen and wrinkly, like bark of the weatherd oak.
There is no rhyme to her reason.
She never says, Change me.
She never asks questions, requests, or requires.
She is not stoic but rather persistent.
She eminates Herself and through Her consistency exudes the simple fact
that all She wants
is to be more more more
Herself.
Please join me and Ali for this very special virtual Four Chambers Writing Workshop on Sunday, August 31st 2025 from 10-11:30 AM Pacific Standard Time. All are welcome! RSVP/Pay via Venmo. See QR code above.
Yours in the embodiment revolution,
~Arianne
